Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced CNC Miller - Setter / Operator / Programmer to join our precision engineering team in Alton. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and programming Hurco CNC milling machines using WinMax controls to produce high-quality precision components to exact tolerances. Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and program Hurco CNC milling machines using WinMax controls
- Accurately read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Select the appropriate tooling and configure machines for efficient production runs
- Conduct first-off inspections to ensure all components meet stringent quality standards
- Work within tight tolerances, maintaining accuracy and consistency throughout production
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to optimize output
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace in accordance with company procedures
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC Miller, with strong skills in setting, operating, and programming
- Proficient in Hurco WinMax controls (essential)
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality work
- Strong understanding of machining principles and tooling
- Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Relevant engineering qualification or apprenticeship (preferred)
