We are seeking a

skilled and detail-driven CNC Nesting Operator

to join our Operations team in Cookstown. This is a key role at the heart of our production process, where your expertise in nesting, programming, and material optimisation will directly influence efficiency, quality, and cost savings across the business.

?? What You'll Be Doing


As a CNC Nesting Operator, you will:

Operate Nesting Software


Create efficient nesting layouts and cutting paths using specialist software such as ProNest or BodorThinker.

Maximise Material Yield


Optimise sheet metal usage across galvanised, mild, and stainless steel by combining jobs, using true-shape nesting, and minimising waste.

Program Cutting Machines


Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to create or modify G-code programs for fibre laser, plasma, and tube laser machines.

Collaborate Across Teams


Work closely with production, engineering, and senior leadership to meet project requirements, production targets, and delivery deadlines.

Drive Continuous Improvement


Optimise cutting parameters, review production data, and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Maintain Quality & Documentation


Ensure all parts meet quality standards while maintaining accurate records of material usage and production data.

Support Machine Operations


Transfer programs between systems and work with machine operators to ensure correct setup and execution.

Technical Expertise


Strong experience with CNC nesting software, CAD/CAM systems, and modern cutting technologies.

Analytical Mindset


Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills for interpreting drawings and optimising complex layouts.

Industry Knowledge


Solid understanding of material properties, cutting techniques, and manufacturing processes.

Strong Communicator


Clear written and verbal communication skills for effective cross-team collaboration and documentation.

Hands-On Experience


Previous experience as a CNC operator/programmer in a production environment.

Software Skills (Highly Valued)


Experience with ProNest, BodorThinker, Autodesk, or similar platforms.
