You'll take pride in your work, keeping a close eye on quality control before handing cut elements over to the creative team for assembly, art working and finishing.
Key Responsibilities:
Programme 3 and 4 axis CNC machines & set up sheet material (timbers, plastics, thin metals etc) for cutting
Translate 3D drawings into cut ready files
Edit cad drawings provided (factoring in tolerance, sacrificial margins etc)
Layout cutting files optimising economical use of material
Collaborate with the design & production team, providing feedback on manufacturability of designs
Inspect, clean and organise cut elements ready for the next process
Keep an eye on production schedule and manage workflow coming through
Complete routine maintenance of machines
Maintain basic levels of stock materials and help to forecast material demand
Maintain a clean and organised workspace in compliance with safety regulations
Essential Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 2 years' experience
Proficient with 2D and 3D cad software (e.g Rhino 8, Solidworks, Autocad)
Ability to read technical drawings accurately
Good time management and teamwork skills
Motivated self-starter with a positive outlook
Basic level of physical fitness due to manual handling of sheet materials
Bonus:
Experienced with laser cutters and/or 3D printers
Previous fabrication and assembly experience
Forklift certification

Start date - August onwards
Contract - Permanent, full time
Hours - 40 hrs a week
Salary - Negotiable (based on skills & experience)
Holiday - 20 days + 8 bank hols. Up to 5 extra days awarded according to length of service
Location - Based in Bristol
