Smart Manufacturing Solutions are recruiting for a Press Brake Operator to join our client's growing precision steel manufacturing team based in Stockton-on-Tees.

In this role, you'll operate CNC press brake machines to produce high-quality steel components that meet exact engineering standards. You'll work as part of a skilled fabrication team in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accuracy, quality, and safety at every stage of production.

While previous experience is preferred, we're equally interested in motivated individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude who are eager to learn, develop, and build a rewarding career in metal fabrication and CNC machinery operation.

Key Responsibilities

Operate CNC press brake machines and related fabrication equipment Follow engineering drawings and part setup sheets to ensure precision and accuracy Perform steel fettling, hole tolerance work, and weld repairs as required Use hand tools such as pin grinders and angle grinders Complete daily operational documentation, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and pre-operation check sheets Conduct visual and dimensional inspections to maintain high-quality standards Ensure all equipment is safe and well-maintained before and during use Monitor machine performance, make necessary adjustments, and troubleshoot basic issues Perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines
Shifts

Days: Monday-Thursday 6:00am-2:15pm, Friday 6:00am-12:45pm Backshift (if required): Monday-Thursday 2:15pm-10:30pm, Friday 12:45pm-7:30pm Nightshift (if required): Sunday 9:30pm-6:00am, Monday-Thursday 10:30pm-6:20am
Essential Skills & Experience

Minimum 1 year of experience operating CNC press brakes Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Able to work to deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Proactive, reliable, and team-oriented approach Willingness to learn and develop new skills
