NES Ltd is an established supplier within the aerospace sector, specializing in high accuracy CNC milling and turning, using state of the art machine tools from Star , Dmg and Doosan. Operating from a modern, facility just to the south of Stratford upon Avon.

The Role

Nicholls Engineering Systems Ltd is seeking a skilled and versatile CNC Programmer Setter Operator to take lead responsibility for our Star SR-38 Type B sliding head lathe. This is a hands-on, senior-level role combining programming, machining, and mentoring, with the flexibility to operate across multiple CNC platforms.

You must have experience operating and setting sliding head CNC lathes, ideally Star, and be confident programming in longhand (manual G-code). Experience with SolidWorks and SolidCAM is preferred but not essential

Key Responsibilities:

Program, set, and operate the Star SR-38 Type B sliding head CNC lathe (Fanuc control). Write programs using manual G-code, and optionally via SolidWorks/SolidCAM. Train and mentor other staff on sliding head setup, operation, and best practice. Operate a range of other CNC machinery including fixed-head lathes and vertical milling centres. Read and interpret technical engineering drawings to machine precision parts. Conduct in-process inspections using measuring tools to maintain quality standards. Work collaboratively with the team to support production targets and continuous improvement.
39 Hours Per week, Finishing at 1pm on Friday
