CNC Operator - Flight Case Manufacturer

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

We are a flight case company based in Rainham, Essex, specialising in building a wide range of cases including road trunks, racks, briefcases, and more. Our cases are crafted from plywood and wood with various hardware, handles, corners, and catches, serving industries such as broadcasting, audio-visual, lighting, exhibitions, entertainment, and many others.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled

CNC Operator

to join our team. The primary responsibility will be operating a dual-axis Alfacam (AYXZ) CNC machine. This is a hands-on role that combines CNC operation with physical work, preparing plywood panels for the next steps in our production line. Training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate the dual-axis Alfacam CNC machine. Create files from customer templates or equipment dimensions using Alfacam software. Read and interpret technical drawings and design models. Input product designs into computer modelling software. Select and load the correct tools for each job. Adjust machine settings to meet product specifications. Troubleshoot issues during the manufacturing process. Load raw materials into the CNC machine. Perform additional production steps including table handsaw, rebating machines, sanding, and panel preparation. Clean and maintain machinery.

Required Experience & Skills:

Previous CNC machine operation or programming experience (flat-bed woodworking CNC only - applications without this will be rejected). Experience interpreting and understanding technical drawings. General computer skills; some AutoCAD or other CAD/CAM software experience preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical or logistical issues. Capable of working independently and as part of a team. Positive, professional, and reliable attitude.

Salary & Benefits:

This is a starting salary, with pay increases as skills are learned and performance is proven.

Please Note:

This role is physically demanding and requires moving large plywood panels on and off the machine. Only candidates with

flat-bed woodworking CNC experience

will be considered. Only apply if your commute to Rainham, Essex is suitable.
