We are seeking flexible, friendly, customer-focused, reliable applicants to join our team of Coach Drivers.
Ideally, applicants will have prior experience of coach driving, but there might be an opportunity for existing Bus Drivers to join us as Coach Drivers, if they possess the right mixture of skills.
Applicants must be willing to undertake a variety of work, including schools, rail replacement, staff shuttles, private hire, airport transfers etc. - There may also be the option to operate multi-day tours and sports team transport for the right candidates. Hours of work will vary greatly, but will involve some weekends and evenings / overnights, as we are a 24/7 business with bookings at various times of the day / week.
This role requires the ability to drive smoothly, safely and comfortably, whilst being smartly presented in full company uniform including shirt and tie. This is not a job for anyone who likes to look casual at work, or doesn't take pride in their personal appearance. The ability to communicate effectively with passengers is vital, as future bookings from our customers are largely based on their last experience with us.
Duties
Safely operate our vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
Conduct pre-journey inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and functionality.
Prepare the vehicle at the end of the duty for the next day, including washing, interior cleaning, fuelling and parking the vehicle.
Assist passengers as necessary.
Communicating with our passengers professionally and calmly, in a way which prompts them to want to travel with us in the future.
Operating a tachograph in line with legal requirements (rest periods, maximum driving hours etc.).
Operate our vehicles in a manner which promotes defensive driving, to minimise the chances of an incident / collision / complaint.
Requirements
Valid, manual transmission, Category 'D' driving licence
Valid DQC card for PCV vehicles
No more than 6 points on your licence as an absolute maximum
