Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are actively looking for a Coastal Engineer to join our Exeter office. As part of the Coastal Group, this position will assist in the planning and design for urban waterfront and coastal structures projects, including marinas, marine terminals, urban waterfront developments and cruise ship facilities, wetland restoration, dredging, shore protection structures, and flood walls.

Duties and responsibilities:

Supports planning and design for waterfront, environmental, and coastal structures including; piers, marinas, marine terminals, wetland restoration, dredging, shore protection structures, and flood walls Assist in research to support opportunities and projects Assist in calculations to support engineering or environmental documents Assists with fieldwork, such as instrument handling and deployment Assists engineers or scientists with inspections Collaborates with other team members Participation in meetings, web-ex or educational seminars

Qualifications:



Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering; required Masters Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Coastal Engineering; required 1+ years of consulting experience in coastal and/or environmental projects; required Software proficiency required in: + AutoCAD
+ Civil3D
+ SWMM
+ ArcGIS
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) Availability and willingness to travel All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

General office setting

Physical requirements:




Ability to use standard office equipment. Sits for a prolonged period of time. On occasion may travel to another office or do site visits.
