Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Coffee Shop Assistant to join our vibrant team at Ori Caffe Within the John Lewis Store High Wycombe. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and have a keen interest in food and beverage preparation. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing support in daily operations and ensuring our customers enjoy a welcoming experience. Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is advantageous, particularly barista experience and knowledge of food safety standards.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including specialised coffee drinks Assist with food preparation and presentation to ensure quality standards are met Serve customers efficiently at the counter or via table service, maintaining a friendly demeanour Handle cash transactions accurately and operate the till system Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, including cleaning equipment and utensils Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times Support team members with catering functions or special events when required

Requirements

Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality environments is preferred Barista experience is highly desirable Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional attitude Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if necessary A genuine interest in food preparation and customer service Prior experience in restaurant or cafe settings will be considered an advantage

Pay: Up to 12.21 per hour
