Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Coffee Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and have a keen interest in hospitality and food preparation. This role involves supporting daily operations within a coffee shop environment, ensuring customers enjoy a welcoming atmosphere and high-quality products. Previous experience in catering, serving, or restaurant settings is advantageous, but not essential. The successful applicant will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth running of the shop while creating a positive experience for all patrons.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including specialised coffee drinks, adhering to company standards. Assist with food preparation tasks, ensuring all items meet safety and quality standards. Provide excellent customer service by taking orders, answering queries, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the counter, seating area, and workstations throughout shifts. Handle cash transactions accurately and operate POS systems efficiently. Follow food safety protocols diligently to ensure compliance with health regulations. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and uphold a welcoming environment.

Experience

Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality roles is not essential. Barista experience is highly desirable, with knowledge of coffee brewing techniques. Familiarity with food preparation processes and food safety standards is advantageous. Experience working in a restaurant or cafe setting will be considered an asset. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure are essential. Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour are vital for delivering outstanding service to customers.
