Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Coffee Shop Assistant to join our vibrant team at Ori Caffe within the John Lewis Store. This role is essential in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for our patrons. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a keen interest in coffee culture, along with the ability to assist in food preparation and maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and take their orders efficiently. Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including coffee, tea, and other specialty drinks. Assist with food preparation, ensuring adherence to food safety standards. Maintain cleanliness of the coffee shop, including tables, counters, and equipment. Handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly. Support catering events as needed, providing excellent service to guests. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods. Stay informed about menu items and promotions to effectively assist customers.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a hospitality or restaurant environment is preferred. Knowledge of food safety practices is essential. Experience in bartending or catering is a plus. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage positively with customers. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. A team player who is willing to help others and contribute to a positive work atmosphere. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.

Pay: Up to 12.21 per hour
