Job Summary:



The cafe General Manager is responsible for assisting in the driving of our brands high energy and overall operations and performance of a coffee shop and our Meeting rooms.

They provide strategic leadership, manage the staff, ensure customer satisfaction, and drive profitability. This position requires strong leadership skills, exceptional organisation abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality food drink & service.

This role involves creating a high energy and positive work environment, maintaining high-quality standards, developing effective operational processes, and ensuring the delivery of our company values through yourself and the whole team.

Available to work key shifts and events as needed: This position you are required to work on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays to meet business demands or project deadlines. Working weekends, when required and is an essential part of this role.

Duties and Responsibilities:



1.

Leadership and Management:



To be an ambassador for the companies brand values.

Lead, motivate, and inspire a team of coffee shop staff to deliver exceptional customer service.

Foster a positive work culture and maintain effective communication with the team.

2.

Operational Management:



Assist in the overseeing of day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth functioning of the coffee shop.

Be responsible for the preparation and presentation of food and beverage to meet quality standards.

Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance efficiency.

Assist in managing inventory, ordering, and stock control to meet customer demand.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, sanitary practices, and food handling standards.

Mange cash register, safe and transaction accurately, including opening and closing procedures.

Customer Service:



Foster and create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for customers, ensuring their satisfaction.

Ensure exceptional customer service is provided by all staff members.

Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and requests in a professional manner.

4.

Quality Control:



Maintain the highest standards for food and drink while ensuring company specs are followed by all staff members.

Conduct regular quality checks to identify and address and issues promptly.

5.

Administrative Tasks:



Assist in administrative duties, such as scheduling, payroll, and reporting.

Maintaining accurate records of sales, inventory, and employee performance.

6.

Sales and Marketing:



Assist alongside your line manager to develop and execute strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones.

Monitor sales performance and set targets to maximize revenue, identify trends and suggest improvements to your line manager.

Collaborate with the marketing team to implement promotional campaigns and initiatives.

7.

Financial Management:



Monitor financial performance and implement cost control measures.

Analyse financial reports and take appropriate actions to improve profitability.

8.

Quality Assurance:



Ensure the quality and consistency of coffee and other products served.

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the coffee shop.

Conduct regular inspections to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.

9.

Staff Management:



Assist in scheduling and organise shifts to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours if required by your line manager.

Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to staff members.

Qualifications and Skills:



At least 4 years' experience in hospitality management.

Proven experience as a General Manager or in a similar leadership role in the food and beverage industry.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent communication and interpretation skills

Sound knowledge of hospitality operations, including barista skills some food preparation skills.

Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations.

Strong business acumen and financial management skills.

Familiar with POS systems, inventory management, and Microsoft Office Suite.

The coffee shop General manager plays a critical role in creating an exceptional coffee shop experience for customers and driving business growth. The responsibilities may vary depending on the size and nature of the coffee shop, but the core duties outlined above provide a general overview of the position.
