Overview

The Roast Works specialises in the storage and distribution of green (raw) coffee to roasteries across the UK, Ireland, and the EU.

We are seeking a skilled Warehouse/Forklift Operator to join our small team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our forklift to load and unload materials, ensuring that products are handled correctly and stored appropriately. This role requires the ability to work as part of a small team, have a keen attention to detail and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.

Responsibilities

Operate our forklift to load and unload palletised coffee and other goods from lorries and containers. Move materials within the warehouse, while using an inventory management system. Ensure pallets are properly stacked and stored to maximise space efficiency and organisation. Conduct regular inspections and basic repairs on equipment to maintain operational safety. Assist in shipping and receiving processes, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation. Perform materials handling tasks, including sorting, packing, and labelling items for distribution. Maintain a clean and organised work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.

Experience

A valid forklift licence is essential Previous experience operating forklifts, preferably a Reach forklift, in a warehouse setting is essential. Familiarity with warehouse management systems is advantageous. Strong mechanical knowledge for equipment repair and maintenance tasks. Basic mathematical skills for inventory management and record keeping. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role. Experience in shipping and receiving processes is preferred but not mandatory.
