Job Description

The Cognos Developer is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of analytic and reporting solutions. The role includes leading enhancements, supporting existing functionalities, and delivering high-quality reporting capabilities using enterprise development platforms and related frameworks. This position requires close collaboration with internal application owners, technical teams, and business stakeholders to implement changes using Agile principles while supporting complex and evolving business requirements.

The role combines strong technical expertise with knowledge of SWIFT reporting to develop and maintain data-driven solutions. The individual will be expected to uphold key IT principles such as prioritizing user needs, delivering reliable and elegant solutions, demonstrating strong business and technical acumen, and promoting innovation.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, Development & Delivery

Lead the design and development of Cognos-based reports, with a particular emphasis on SWIFT reporting solutions. Deliver high-quality software in alignment with agreed-upon quality, risk, and performance standards. Support the full end-to-end development lifecycle within a cross-functional Agile team.

Agile Collaboration

Participate in standard Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews. Work with business users and project managers to understand requirements and propose practical, innovative solutions. Collaborate closely with architects, ETL developers, QA teams, and other technical stakeholders to estimate, plan, and build data solutions.

Environment & Deployment Coordination

Coordinate with Infrastructure and Operations teams to ensure consistent deployment of features across test and production environments. Support deployment via DevOps tooling or manual processes as appropriate.

Technical Skills

Expertise in

IBM Cognos 10+

for reporting and analytics. Strong experience with

Oracle 11g

and

Oracle PL/SQL

. Solid understanding of

Kimball methodology

and

star schema design

. Experience delivering data solutions within financial services environments. Desirable knowledge:

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

Strong investigative, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Collaborative team player with a positive and constructive approach. Detail-oriented and diligent, with a commitment to delivering work on time and to the expected quality standards. Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience. Relevant technical certifications are desirable.

Pay: 65,000.00-70,000.00 per year
