To undertake a variety of driving duties on various contacts held by the company. Collections to include from both Charity shop/properties, waste amenity sites and standalone clothing containers in street/ car park locations. To collect, load and unload various textile items by hand. Multitasking and good time management skills are essential for this position.
Performance objectives
Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines for both retail shops and waste amenity sites at all times, each may have their own induction protocols.
Be professional and positive representative of the company pertain to the collections of goods (shop managers, workers & waste site employees)
Be courteous and exercise diplomacy at all times. Must maintain cooperative and harmonious working relationships with other staff members and suppliers
Main Duties and responsibilities
Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
To ensure that service delivery standards are maintained to high level as per company policy, to ensure retention of contracts
To complete daily collections within a set time scale - which may sometimes mean working beyond the set hours to ensure we meet our commitment to our customers.
To ensure safe handling of textiles when loading and unloading to ensure they reach their destination in good condition.
To ensure load is safety secure
To provide accurate feedback of activities completed and report any issues to the line manager
To keep up-to-date logbooks and issue collection/delivery receipts
To wear protective clothing/ footwear provided, at all times
Be responsible for the Health & Safety of self and others in the work area and ensuring Health & Safety guidelines are followed at all times
To ensure the vehicle is clean and comfortable to drive
To report any issues regards to vehicle to Line Manager
To undertake such additional duties appropriate to the post and to support the organisation's wider goals by working flexibly across the organisation from time to time as determined by your manager.
Weekend work may be required from time to time
Ensure all tachographs rules are adhered to at all times (where applicable)
Ensure accurate collection data provided to suppliers and office for every collection
Be physically fit and be prepared for heavy lifting and manual labour
Be a team player, working well with others at all times
Be friendly, approachable, and professional at all times, as the role involves working with volunteers and employees of Charity shops and on occasion waste amenity sites employees.
Valid driving license
Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
Proof of right to work
CPC (where applicable)
