Duration of contract

: One Year Fixed-Term Contract - potential extension subject to funding.

Hours of work:

37.5 per week.

Do you have a background in teaching BTEC Sport and want to join our highly successful QPR Education Team?


Off the back of a hugely successful 2024/2025 campaign that saw the QPR College Academy win the 'Project of the Year' at the QPR Trust Awards coupled with 100% pass rate on BTEC courses, we are now looking to add to our coaching/teaching staff.


We require an experienced coach/tutor with a background of working with 16-19yr olds both on the pitch and within the classroom environment. If you have a passion for maximising the potential of young people, and the relevant coaching/tutoring experience, then we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:



Deliver on the College Academy programme as tutor and coach. This is to include (not exhaustive): Develop, refine and deliver learning resources for BTEC lessons Deliver coaching syllabus to defined groups on the pitch Classroom support for pupils 1:1 or in small groups. Plan and deliver specific workshops and assemblies. Complete monitoring & evaluation in line with PLCF and QPR policies Engage with schools and participants in Social Action projects, particularly climate change awareness Encourage young people's enthusiasm and participation in football and physical activity, in particular their longer-term participation in football. Work as part of a coaching team in the Education Department, liaising with; partners, parents and colleagues to ensure the ongoing continuation and expansion of locally based activities. Plan and deliver appropriate activities that fulfil the national curriculum requirements. Ensure that suitable progression pathways are available for young people to reach the most suitable level of participation, regardless of their ability or personal circumstances. This will involve linking, and maintaining a relationship with relevant schools and clubs. Deliver against agreed targets as per the project plan and funding conditions. Organise, manage and deliver other events as relevant to the programme, for example tournaments and festivals, open/taster days or education workshops. When required, provide cover and assistance for other coaching staff across all boroughs/areas that the Trust operates. This cover may extend to attending meetings, conferences, workshops and events if required.

The type of experience we are looking for:



Qualifications



UKCC Level 2 coaching qualification or equivalent (essential) UEFA B Licence (preferable) In-date DBS, First-Aid and Safeguarding Certificates (essential) Driving Licence and access to vehicle (essential) Level 3 teaching qualification or equivalent (desirable)

Skills, Knowledge, Experience



Tutoring/teaching young people aged 16-19yrs in an education setting. Coaching football to young people aged age 16-19yrs Working with socially excluded young people. Mentoring other staff through coaching/teaching. (desirable) Evaluating the impact of sessions and writing reports to reflect this. (desirable)

Personal Qualities



Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to plan, develop, and evaluate an effective intervention programme Able to use a variety of delivery styles to engage and motivate individuals Ability to deliver KPIs against a project plan on time and within budget
