Job Summary



We are seeking a knowledgeable Lecturer in Colour Correction and Grading to work on a single module at Futureworks, Manchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching the module to the module specifications, creating learning materials in preparation of the module delivery.

Module Content



This module covers a focus on research and development of colour correction and grading concepts into a professional standard video artefact, employing a specific set of technical post-production skills and techniques.

Subject areas on this module include:

Roundtripping projects

Researching pre-existing examples of colour grading in reflection to film and television

Colour Correction implementing specialist equipment to identify peaking

Shot Matching

Skin Tone Correction

Mood and Theme setting

Stylising

Genre Specific grading

Exporting and deliverables to accepted media formats



Postholders are designing, delivering, and assessing a range of teaching materials, are making a clear contribution, via departmental discussions, to curriculum review and enhancement and are engaging in individual or collaborative research. Freelance Tutors will often prepare and deliver a range of new and existing content, with support available from the Programme Leader in a mentor capacity, particularly during the first twelve months in the role.

The postholder will be required to liaise with students, programme leaders, tutors, student services, and other external parties in the delivery of a professional, student-centred approach to teaching learners from a diverse and multicultural range of backgrounds. Postholders work with Programme Leaders and Heads of Schools to determine and deliver departmental priorities.

Postholders participate in departmental administration to ensure that information and documentation is available to stakeholders as required, and that such information is available for audits, reviews and quality control procedures as needed.

Representative Work Activities



Design and deliver teaching materials across a range of modules or within a subject area, using appropriate teaching, learning and assessment methods.

Set, mark and assess work and provide feedback to students.

Apply knowledge acquired from appropriate external activities and research to teaching.

Routinely communicate complex and conceptual ideas to those with a range of knowledge and understanding.

Participate in and develop external networks and student opportunities.

Be responsible for the pastoral care of students within the context of learning and teaching.

Collaborate with colleagues on the implementation of assessment procedures.

Continually enhance lesson delivery through engagement with academic quality assurance procedures.
