to join the maintenance and engineering team at our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems across our production environment, ensuring all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant regulations.
This role is hands-on and will involve working on a wide range of electrical systems, including production line machinery, lighting, control panels, and CCTV systems. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a
manufacturing setting
, with
experience in food production or animal feed manufacturing
being highly beneficial.
You will be expected to work both independently and as part of a team, supporting continuous production, minimising downtime, and helping to maintain a safe, compliant, and productive workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Installation & Maintenance
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, and components throughout the factory.
Support the electrical requirements of production line machinery and other manufacturing equipment.
Troubleshooting & Repairs
Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
Conduct routine inspections and testing of electrical systems and equipment.
Maintain compliance with all safety standards and ensure equipment is operating efficiently.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure all work is carried out in line with current electrical regulations and health & safety legislation.
Contribute to safe systems of work and risk assessments as required.
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with production, engineering, and management teams to prioritise and plan work.
Communicate effectively regarding project updates, breakdowns, and maintenance schedules.
Record Keeping
Maintain accurate documentation for all electrical work carried out, including repairs, inspections, and installations.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Commercial Electrician or in a similar industrial role.
Experience in a
manufacturing environment
; food production or animal feed manufacturing experience highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
Familiarity with CCTV and control systems advantageous.
Basic IT skills for troubleshooting automated and electronic systems.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-skilled team.
Valid driving licence (may be required for occasional site visits or off-site training).
