Job Description



Job purpose




To support front line teams within Commercial Banking with the onboarding of new to Bank and existing client relationships. To represent the Commercial banking team on various regulatory and non-regulatory projects and to manage the actions and implementation of these projects in line with agreed deadlines. To support various ad hoc projects on behalf of the Commercial Banking team. Where applicable, to place the interests of customers at the centre of all activities, act in a way that is consistent with achieving good outcomes for consumers; and to comply with the FCA and PRA's Conduct Rules.



Key Responsibilities:




Onboarding management and improvement:




Providing an additional level of checks to all commercial onboarding packs and where required KYC reviews. Liaising with CBE, SCBE, Banker, Director and Team head to ensure that feedback is given on a regular basis. Feedback shared across the teams to help improve. Collating failure trends with onboarding and KYC periodic reviews - and providing an overview on the route case with particular focus on of process, procedure or training requirements.

Service quality:


Collaborate with relevant areas of the Bank where required. This may include internal projects and updates to procedures/ processes or any other onboarding documentation. Act as a subject matter expert for the front-line business on banking and regulatory topics Ensure that all work undertaken is delivered to the agreed priorities and timescales. Represent Commercial Banking at forums, such as FLFL, and other relevant working parties where required Build a positive network of stakeholders from across the organisation, in line with the Bank's core value of collaboration.

Risk & Control:


Promote a culture and understanding of risk in Commercial Banking. Ensuring all feedback given is done so in a timely manner and can be linked back to internal process and procedure for ease of understanding. Complete and track the progress of actions assigned to you that arise from internal teams - including FCP Appeals, reviewing procedures/process updates. Responsible for managing risks inherent to the role by diligently observing internal policies and procedures. Work with other teams across the business to deliver accurate Regulatory Reporting in line with regulatory deadlines.

Team Administration:


Produce accurate and timely MI as required for Head of Commercial Banking REF, Managing Director Banking and Team Heads when required. Support new CBEs within the commercial bank, assist in training with the onboarding procedure. Support the SCBEs: Regular Feedback, open communication and providing the require MI in a clear manner. Knowledge/

Experience/Skills:




Relevant banking experience Good computer skills, including data analysis. Good understanding of risk and regulation applicable to the Banking sector, with a specific focus on AML. Ability and confidence to deal effectively and professionally with people across the business. An ability to work in a methodical, logical and accurate fashion. Must be conscientious and diligent and ensure high levels of accuracy. Practical experience in a client-facing role would be beneficial. Good time management, organisational and administrative skills Attention to detail, quality and high standards. Ability to work well in a team environment. Sense of urgency when required and an ability to prioritise in a busy and demanding environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Capable of working under pressure and using own initiative Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously whilst remaining flexible, proactive and efficient. Aptitude for learning and willingness to develop and expand role where required



Qualifications:




Banking qualifications would be beneficial but not essential.
