We're looking for someone to join us as a Commercial Claims Team Leader, to drive the great outcomes we're achieving in our Commercial Claims unit. As a Commercial Claims Team Leader, you'll have experience in helping people shape the right curiosity, passion and integrity needed for a collaborative, successful, career.


Our purpose is to collectively achieve market leading service for our customers and no matter the challenge we face we learn, grow and continuously evolve. As part of the Commercial Claims unit, you'll be working in a unit that is responsible for managing all claims relating to Commercial Property, Casualty, Motor Trade and Commercial Motor.


At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you'll be doing:



Leading your team of varying skills level Claims Handlers, who are responsible for handling a portfolio of claims. Moving swiftly and to a high-quality standard. Ongoing capability and development are key to the success of this team, so your natural leadership and role modelling ongoing development will bring some great results. Responsible for projects, correct procedures, process and regularity adherence which you'll use this to identify any opportunities for improvement, whilst incorporating data driven decisions to bolster all improvements. Working with some great people across Claims and with external agencies you'll build strong relationships, using your relationship management abilities will be key to the success of the unit.

What you'll bring:



Understanding of Insurance Claims is preferred especially within casualty, commercial property, motor or engineering. Leadership experience of a team is essential. Spans of control sit between 12-15 employees, so a similar level of experience would be advantageous. Expert in role modelling the right and productive behaviours. Ability to embrace and adapt to change in a positive manner and demonstrate courage and resilience in an ever-changing environment. Developed conflict management skills. Understanding of the best coaching approach for individuals and the power of a good personal development plans for self and others. The ability to build and maintain strong and effective working relationships with customers and stakeholders, both internal and external. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and understanding of data analysis.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
