Working directly with the Commercial and DA Partnerships Leadership team, you'll be delivering oversight and management of contracts across AXA Commercial for this 12-month fixed term contract. You'll work closely with the teams across Commercial, with the majority of your time with the DA Partnerships and Strategic Partners teams, and the AXA UK Legal team.



As Contracts Manager, you'll be responsible for the robust application of the contract management framework for all Commercial Distribution and Delegated Authority contracts. You'll work with Relationship and Product Managers to understand the pipeline of activity relating to new distribution arrangements, ensuring the appropriate contractual provisions are in place ahead of commencement of these relationships. In addition, you'll be responsible for the execution and maintenance of a plan designed to ensure that AXA Commercial is operating in line with AXA UK and Group guidelines for distribution and Delegated Authority contract management. You'll take ownership for resolving contract related matters with AXA Commercial, working closely with the AXA UK Legal Team, Risk Teams, Relationship Managers and external firms as required.

You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home at your local office, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance in our Leeds, Reading or Bolton office,visiting clients or attending industry events.We're also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

What you'll be doing:



Be responsible for the commercial contract pipeline and prioritisation process (including regular review of the framework). Take responsibility for the ongoing management of the contracts database for all commercial distribution and delegated authority arrangements. Be a technical reference point (in respect of contracts) for AXA Commercial, delivering best practice advice and guidance to the team. Maintain strong links with Group Legal to ensure best practice contractual environment is maintained. Ensure adherence to internal and external governance frameworks throughout the onboarding and offboarding of contracts. Ensure processes for mandatory clauses are all in line with best practice and advise on contracts which require mid-term and annual review. Provide regular reporting to UK Risk team in a timely manner plus fulfil any ad hoc requests. Work with relevant experts to solve issues and challenges that may impair compliance with AXA UK and Group requirements pertaining to distribution contracts. Be proactive in identifying and proposing solutions to issues preventing specific contracts from going live Execute and maintain the plan designed to ensure that AXA Commercial is operating in line with AXA UK and Group guidelines for distribution contract management.
Review and report on residual risk exposure and highlight any areas where planned activity is delayed or not driving anticipated benefits/ outcomes.

What you'll bring:



Good knowledge of procurement concepts, processes and techniques including contractual formation, termination and dispute resolution skills. Contracting and legal experience essential for this role with an understanding of Delegated Authority arrangements would be beneficial. Ability to deliver change effectively. Ability to develop and manage a contract framework and database. Ability to influence people & situations to achieve optimum results. Solution focused with a track record of working collaboratively with other SMEs to manage risks and issues. Resilient with excellent communication skills. Experience of establishing new ways of working and a willingness to challenge the status quo. Business planning and project management knowledge. Track record of delivering a best practice environment.

This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
