We are a well established company operating within the construction environment, expanding our leadership structure to support a growing portfolio of long running clients and multi year project agreements. The business delivers a mixture of planned works, refurbishment activity, and ongoing service contracts, and is now seeking a commercially focused individual to help strengthen project performance and contractual control.
The Opportunity
This position focuses on overseeing the commercial and contractual direction of several ongoing schemes. Working closely with operational delivery teams, you will ensure that each project is correctly set up, commercially safeguarded, and managed in line with agreed terms. While day to day site activity is handled by operations colleagues, your oversight will protect programme commitments, contractual compliance, risk exposure and overall commercial performance.
Success in this role requires strong contract knowledge, calm decision making, and the ability to guide teams through commercially significant matters.
Main Duties
Provide commercial and contractual leadership across multiple live projects
Review scopes and project information at pre start stage, identifying risks and setting clear expectations
Monitor programme milestones and contribute to high level progress reviews
Assess subcontractor proposals and ensure orders reflect accurate scopes and controlled cost exposure
Lead on change management including pricing, notices, extensions of time and associated client communication
Track margins, forecast costs and contribute to internal commercial reporting
Act as an escalation point for contractual queries from clients or supply chain partners
Support project teams by improving their commercial understanding and reinforcing good contract practice
About You
Background in commercial or contractual management within construction or building services
Solid understanding of standard form contracts and construction law fundamentals
Experienced in variation handling, delay notifications and subcontract procurement
Confident communicating with clients and capable of protecting commercial interests
Financially aware with experience managing project level reporting
Collaborative but firm, with the ability to set expectations clearly
Exposure to frameworks, refurbishment work or maintenance focused projects is advantageous
Qualifications and Training
Relevant safety and site certifications (CSCS/SMSTS)
Qualification in a construction related or commercial discipline
Additional training in contract administration or claims management is welcomed

Pay: 55,000.00-65,000.00 per year
