London, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Here's what you'll be doing:

As a department within Simply Business, we're responsible for delivering end-to-end, complex initiatives across our portfolio of work in line with SB's strategic objectives. We also focus on continuously simplifying, managing, and guiding quality delivery across the organisation.

As our Commercial Delivery Manager, you'll be at the forefront of strategic delivery for the Commercial Department. This role is different because you'll be the central point for prioritisation and delivery coordination across the Commercial department. You'll work closely with our Commercial teams (such as Insurance, Product, Partnerships, Data, and Claims) and our technical delivery team to align requirements and ensure visibility and fluidity throughout the delivery pipeline. You'll act as a major stakeholder in advancing the Commercial delivery Agenda and the overarching Commercial Gameplan.

As our Commercial Delivery Manager, you'll:

Plan and manage the end-to-end agile delivery of highly complex, cross-functional, core-team, and strategic Digital Products and Initiatives, ensuring outcomes are aligned with expected results. Build and nurture strong and effective stakeholder relationships, including with key Commercial stakeholders, ensuring they are effectively managed, informed, and included as needed. Take ownership of ambiguity in cross-team delivery by pursuing clarity, enabling quick decisions, facilitating trade-offs, and helping to identify options. Monitor and manage the evolving demands of the Commercial roadmaps, OKRs, and any OKR dependencies, enabling Commercial to deliver value with pace by removing impediments and minimising disruption. Work closely with the GSD Scrum Master to maintain a refined backlog, supporting sprint planning and agility. Champion a culture of continuous improvement and best practice to drive team engagement and increase delivery effectiveness.

We're looking for someone who is:

Highly experienced in agile project or product delivery and a proven track record of delivering highly complex, cross-functional, and strategic Products and Initiatives. A self-motivated, action-oriented, and proactive problem-solver with a desire to lead teams, who is able to manage ambiguity and simplify complex challenges. An excellent communicator who can clearly and effectively engage with all levels of the organisation and is confident in building influential relationships with senior stakeholders. Commercially aware, with a focus on driving best business outcomes and demonstrable experience in estimating costs, budget, and capacity management. Adaptable and value-focused, with a strong sense of accountability and a balance of instilling agile practices and mindset alongside hands-on management of initiatives. Knowledgeable in Agile, preferably with a recognised Agile or project management qualification (e.g., APM, PMI-ACP, Certified Scrum Master) and experience using Atlassian tooling like Jira, Confluence, and Trello.

(We know it's tough, but please try to avoid the confidence gap. You don't have to match all the bullet points above to be considered for this role). We encourage people of all different backgrounds and identities to apply. We are committed to maintaining an inclusive, supportive place for you to be you and do your very best work.

If this sounds like the right role for you, we'd love to see your application!
