Ignite Your Engineering Career with VIVO Defence Services

Do you have what it takes to power the essential infrastructure of the UK's Defence sector? We're looking for a highly skilled and motivated Gas & Oil Engineer to join our team, helping to deliver vital mechanical and heating services across RAF Fairford and RAF Welford.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for keeping critical heating systems running efficiently across both commercial buildings and domestic properties, including Married Family Housing. Your daily responsibilities will include performing planned preventative maintenance and responding quickly to reactive repairs. Ensuring systems are compliant with O&M manuals and design specifications will be essential, as will your ability to maintain safety and energy efficiency at all times.

In addition to maintaining and repairing LPG and oil-fired heating systems, you will help supervise subcontractors and ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Your expertise will be vital in making sure gas distribution systems operate within the correct parameters. You'll also participate in an out-of-hours standby rota, ready to respond to urgent calls as needed, and work closely with our helpdesk and M&E Supervisor to provide feedback and updates on job progress. Professionalism and good customer communication are key -- you'll be the face of VIVO for many clients and residents.

Your work tasks will be assigned to you by PDA and you will self schedule all works, with timescales given for reactive maintenance tasks.

What You'll Need;

We're seeking someone who is Gas Safe registered, with qualifications including CCN1, CENWAT, CPA1, and ideally LPG certification. You should also be OFTEC qualified for oil systems (101, 105E, and 600A), and have experience with gas systems, unvented hot water systems, and broader multi-discipline maintenance. A strong understanding of health and safety legislation is essential, along with the ability to read schematics and work accurately using digital job tracking systems.

What sets you apart is your commitment to quality and safety, your proactive attitude, and your willingness to take initiative and continuously learn. Clear communication, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high standards will make you a great fit for our growing team. You will be predominantly lone working, so will need to be motivated and independent.

It is essential you have a full UK Drivers License and be able to pass SC Clearance to be eligible for this role.

If you're ready to put your skills to work in a meaningful, high-impact role, we want to hear from you.

25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Life assurance policy

6% employer matched pension contribution
