We Are Hiring:
We are looking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced Commercial Estimator to join our Commercial Department located at Carrier HQ, Upper Broughton.
Key Responsibilities
The Estimator plays a key role in the success of the business by accurately processing all tender enquiries and management of the workload within the Estimating Team. The main responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
Conduct thorough analysis of client-supplied information to ensure timely and low-risk completion of tenders, followed by proactive monitoring and follow-up to support successful bid outcomes.
Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to accurately identify and interpret project requirements.
Highlight and communicate any risks, value engineering opportunities or commercial implications at the tender stage.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate and up-to-date pricing for materials and services.
Prepare accurate, monthly reports on tendering figures and issue to relevant department.
Lead process reviews to optimise estimating workflows, eliminating inefficiencies and reducing manual administrative tasks.
Assist in the implementation and roll-out of a new estimating and project management system, ensuring smooth transition and user adoption.
Maintain ongoing communication with operations teams to clarify scope, design changes, or client variations during project mobilisation and delivery.
Person Specification
Proven experience as an Estimator within landscaping, civil engineering, or construction.
Strong understanding of UK landscaping materials, methods, and cost structures.
Experience with estimating software system
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project scopes
Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
Strong organisational and time management skills
Advanced IT skills (able to use Excel and Microsoft Word)
Requirements
Desirable not essential: NC/HND or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Full UK driving licence.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm (40 hours per week).
