Job Description

The Flooring Co (UK) Ltd is a well-established flooring supplier and contractor, with over 30 years of experience within the commercial sector. We are currently seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join our professional dynamic team to be apart of our expanding business throughout London, Greater London and Home Counties. The candidate must be a good forward planner who will be often required to make judgements/assessments in relation to variations and additional costs. Also be required to work on a variety of large scale projects at any one time of varying value, from approval of the tender through to the complete process of the Flooring works. This will involve Procurement, Client Liaison, Management of labour on site, assessing the Quality of works and arranging for remedial work to be carried out if required, all preparation and signing off on the final account.

The successful candidate will be working closely with an experienced Commercial Manager and Director as well as fellow management staff

Responsibilities and Duties



Liaise with pre-contracts department and clients to facilitate efficient job hand over on receipt of orders Carry out pre-start site surveys Check/measure/take off drawings using industry specific software Order materials & allocate labour. Co-ordinate your delivery on time- and site-specific basis Procurement of labour Liaise and maintain a good working relationship with Clients, Surveyors, Project Managers and attend site meetings. Understand site requirements & manage multiple installations Ensure that Health and Safety requirements on site are always adhered to and carried out under health and safety guidelines. Produce RAMS using a tailored software package. Document & process variation orders Handling ad hoc request from client and site teams Record keeping, filing, managing appointments, and correspondence O&M documentation Ensure that projects run on time and on budget

About the Candidate



Numerate and literate with good knowledge of various computer packages including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel (Callidus or Measure Square desirable) Proven experience as Contracts Manager with demonstrated understanding of requirements of the role Flooring experience - essential Excellent Product Knowledge of Commercial Flooring Products and their effective installation. Experience of sub floor preparation Experience liaising with and instructing labour Client focussed approach Focus on contract management and delivery of projects on time, on budget and to a high standard Excellent people management, communication, and organisation skills are essential An up-to-date CSCS card or preferably SSSTS
