Commercial Insurance Underwriter

As a Commercial Underwriter you will:

• Own and manage a portfolio of commercial renewals across a wide range of sectors - from property owners and contractors to hospitality and retail.
• Build strong, trusted relationships with brokers by providing responsive, knowledgeable support and proactive renewal outcomes.
• Handle mid-term adjustments, cancellations, and larger renewals (5,000+ premium) efficiently and accurately.
• Act as a referral point for underwriting assistants and contribute to team development.
• Work within your underwriting licence and collaborate with senior colleagues to deliver the best trading decisions.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve the customer journey.

As a Commercial Underwriter you will have:

• At least 2 years' experience in commercial underwriting (property/casualty).
• Strong trading and negotiation skills - with the confidence to make decisions that balance risk and reward.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a natural flair for relationship management.
• The ability to perform under pressure while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
