The role:
We are seeking a Global Proposition Leader in Commercial Lines Pricing and Underwriting to innovate, grow and develop our offering to the market. Pioneering in a strategic area of our global business, we are aiming for sustained double-digit growth in this sector over many years, transforming the insurance marketplace. The commercial lines insurance market is evolving at pace, and we are looking for a strategic and influential trailblazer to drive this change.
Our market leading Radar software is used widely for CL rating, pricing and deployment of algorithms to support pre-bind activity. We continue to invest heavily and have recently released Radar ISO Converter which creates ISO models in Radar at the touch of a button to support the rating of some US commercial lines. Radar Fusion, our cloud native underwriter workbench solution will be released later this year, bringing configurable UI, workflow and data model to support the underwriting process.
In collaboration with key SMEs and stakeholders across ICT, develop and communicate global strategy for profitable growth in the CL Pricing and Underwriting area
Play a visible external role in the global marketplace, through direct client/prospect and broad industry contact
Work with innovators in the consulting teams to assess the global marketplace for opportunities in CL Pricing and Underwriting, and identify global product/service offerings that respond to those opportunities
Consulting offerings:
In conjunction with regional consulting team leaders, develop proposed positioning in CL Pricing and Underwriting
Work with consulting colleagues to identify required intellectual property and proposition development in CL Pricing and Underwriting, and with regional leaders agree:
o IP development initiatives required regionally, to be co-ordinated by regional leaders
o IP development initiatives required globally, to be co-ordinated by this role
Given relevant consultant resource, deliver agreed IP development projects on time and within budget
Co-ordinate the dissemination of globally applicable intellectual capital in CL Pricing and Underwriting to support global positioning
Where appropriate provide relevant input for high profile, high risk or otherwise strategically important CL Pricing and Underwriting consulting projects globally
Software
:
Work with SMEs across the consulting teams to identify opportunities for the Radar Suite software, both in relation to minor feature improvements and major new capabilities or products. Support the Radar Product Head in prioritising such developments, given available software development resources and market trends
Monitor the market (within the bounds of what is legally appropriate) to ensure that software product features are innovative and market leading and where not, work with the Radar Product Head to develop and implement tactics to overcome marketplace resistance
With the Radar Product Head, formulate business cases for new products (or major enhancements of existing products) that require additional investment. This will include gathering consultant, client, and IT requirements
With the Radar Product Head, in partnership with the consulting teams, Technology Leadership Team and other GPLs, periodically review allocation of resources across products, and review business cases for new products aligning with ICT and ICT Technology strategic objectives
Define Radar product price lists for approval by TLT
Review non-standard fee quotes and contract terms
Annual planning:
Input into annual planning of software sales goals and retention targets for sales of Radar suite software
Support the consulting teams by inputting more generally on CL Pricing and Underwriting consulting targets
Peer review significant consulting projects where appropriate
Support the go-to-market and sales activities in CL Pricing and Underwriting (of both software and consulting) in conjunction with regional consulting leaders and local consultants, through general guidance and personal involvement in the larger or more strategic pitches
Be the "public face" of the Radar Suite to the CL insurer client base
Chair the CL Pricing and Underwriting "Proposition Council" of senior market leaders within ICT. Engender a sense of empowerment to its members, as a means to achieve much of the above
Qualifications

The Requirements:
Have significant experience in commercial lines underwriting or pricing
Demonstrate the capability for original thought and innovation
Demonstrate the ability to deliver complex and multi-stakeholder projects from first idea through to completion and implementation
Demonstrate the ability to manage conflict and challenging relationships
Demonstrate strategic vision
Be able to map their high-level vision to detailed requirements to support product development
Be able to learn quickly
Be collaborative and good at working with multiple stakeholders
Remain client focussed
Ideally have a history of speaking at industry events
