Job Description
W&P Partners are instructed by a well-established UK law firm seeking to appoint a Commercial Disputes Partner to support the strategic expansion of its Dispute Resolution practice.
This is a newly created leadership opportunity, designed for a proven Commercial Litigator ready to play a pivotal role in growing a regional powerhouse into a truly national offering.
You will work closely as a number two to the Head of Commercial Disputes, providing both operational support and strategic input. While a portable client following would be advantageous, the firm is equally open to candidates with strong referrer networks and proven BD capability, particularly those seeking to relocate from London while retaining a high-calibre caseload.
The Practice
The team advises on domestic and international disputes across multiple sectors, delivering pragmatic, commercially-driven solutions through litigation, arbitration and ADR.
Acting for clients across the South East, London and internationally, the group handles:
Domestic & International Contract Disputes - breach, termination, interpretation. International Trade & Commodities. Insurance & Maritime Insurance Claims. Sale & Supply of Goods (industrial & manufacturing). Transport, Logistics & Warehousing. Corporate & Transactional Disputes - M&A, disposals. Gaming & Digital Disputes (domestic & global). Injunctions & Urgent Contested Applications. Regulatory Litigation - financial services, education, charity. Mis-Selling & Financial Product Claims. ADR Strategy & Litigation Avoidance Consultancy.
The firm maintains a trusted international referral network, enabling seamless management of multi-jurisdictional disputes.
The Ideal Candidate
Existing Partner or Legal Director with a proven commercial litigation background. Track record of developing clients, referrers or sector relationships. Ambitious and entrepreneurial -- eager to help scale a national disputes offering. Suitable for candidates looking to move out of London without sacrificing profile or quality of work.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: 90,000.00-120,000.00 per year
