As part of the Estate Agency (EA) finance team, you will be responsible for supporting senior management and driving performance in the business through the oversight and interpretation of high-quality management accounts data. This role is based in
Milton Keynes
Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:
Monthly Management Accounts
Deliver high quality management accounts for a division of our EA business.
Have oversight and control over key cost areas - including payroll costs, discretionary costs and advertising. Follow up and resolve allocation queries.
Preparation of judgemental elements of monthly management accounts (e.g. Bonus Accruals) and overall review of business results.
Liaise with the business to ensure the monthly performance is understood and any queries are investigated and resolved.
Work closely with the operational and FP&A team to ensure accuracy of data and collaborate to improve processes and controls.
Financial Stewardship and Control
Have oversight and review of key balance sheet items that relate to your business area.
Debtors' analysis and review
Work closely with the operational and financial, planning & analysis (FP&A) teams to ensure accuracy of data and collaborate to improve processes and controls.
Planning and Forecasting
Work in conjunction with the business & wider finance team to deliver realistic budgets/forecasts for the business area.
Co-ordinate and support the business area to deliver stretching but achievable branch budgets.
Develop strong understanding of the risks and opportunities the business area faces and the sensitivities that drive the P&L.
Decision Support
Support the business in key decision making through analytical support and provide financial challenge and insight.
Provide support and analysis for renumeration decisions, e.g. profit shares and incentive plans
Act as the key finance support within operator led review meetings and be the primary finance contact for the business on trading calls.
Willing to travel to see MDs as required.
The ideal candidate will be:
Qualified in a recognised accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or qualified by experience
Experienced with at least 3-5 years minimum financial and management accounting experience.
Ambitious, with the drive to succeed and deliver change in an exciting and challenging environment.
A confident communicator, prepared to engage with and influence senior management and the operational heads in the business unit
Required to critically assess information, communicate problem-solving ideas and process improvements to our management team in a straightforward manner.
Strong numerically and analytically, including experience of interpreting financial data and determining trends.
