About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial delivery of civil engineering projects, ensuring successful outcomes in line with programme, budget, and contractual obligations. This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing cost control, procurement, contract management, and stakeholder engagement, supporting project teams across a range of infrastructure and construction sites.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee full contract lifecycle management from pre-contract through to final account settlement. Lead budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and procurement processes across multiple projects. Ensure all stakeholders fully understand and comply with contractual obligations. Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiations, and performance monitoring. Identify, assess, and manage project risks and opportunities. Ensure compliance with internal commercial procedures, governance, and reporting requirements. Monitor and drive commercial performance of subcontractors and internal teams. Maintain and strengthen client and consultant relationships. Work collaboratively with internal departments to support the successful delivery of civil engineering projects. Act as a key contributor in the delivery and commercial success of all civil works undertaken.

Qualifications & Experience:

A full, valid UK driving licence (essential). Extensive experience within the construction and civil engineering sector - ideally a minimum of 15 years. Demonstrable leadership and team management capabilities. A strong track record in managing commercial performance and contract administration. Proficiency in cost reporting, budgeting, and financial forecasting. Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and commercial software systems
