We are recruiting for a Commercial Manager to join our North East team, based in Durham and covering the wider region. The ideal candidate will be a strong commercial leader with experience managing teams, driving financial performance, and ensuring compliance across multiple projects. What You'll Do

Lead, manage and mentor the commercial team, supporting performance, engagement, and professional development. Oversee project commercial strategy, including procurement, supply chain processes, and cost control. Ensure compliance with Caddick's commercial procedures, contracts, and corporate governance. Provide financial reporting, CVRs, forecasts, and risk analysis to senior management. Manage valuations, compensation events, final accounts, and timely cash collection. Monitor and report on commercial metrics, ensuring risks and opportunities are identified and acted upon. Build and maintain strong client and supply chain relationships, representing Caddick at key meetings. Contribute to tendering, bid support, and preconstruction activities with contractual and commercial expertise.

What We're Looking For

Proven experience as a

Commercial Manager

within the UK construction industry. Strong contractual knowledge of

NEC, ICE, and JCT

contracts. In-depth commercial awareness with expertise in cost management, risk, and procurement. Experience leading and developing high-performing teams. Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills. Analytical and strategic mindset with strong problem-solving ability. Degree-qualified or equivalent; membership of CIOB/RICS desirable. Strong IT skills with the ability to use reporting applications effectively.
