The Commercial Manager will support further development and implementation of the Transport Commerical strategy within Boughey Distribution. Actively seeking specific opportunities that compliment, expand and promote the transport portfolio, working in tangent with the business development team to maximise potential for bids and tender across new and existing customers.

Day to Day
Support the development of Sales and Procurement Strategies for all bids by acting as a commercial point of contact for customer communication at any stage of the bid cycle
Assess commercial risks and develop plans to reduce risk and increase yield
Manage the modelling of costs and pricing of proposals
Working with the operational teams ensure that opportunities promote and align to the wider business strategy for growth
Prepare Financial and Contractual Proposals including Customer Price Breakdown Schedules
Ensure existing rates and agreements for subcontractors are fit for purpose and enter into contract discussions where required
Review and approve Commercial inputs to data packs to prospective subcontractors to ensure the correct flow down of contractual terms, conditions and risk
Prepare Transport specific commercial input to bid risk assessments, commercial/contractual strategy and pricing strategy
Assess commercial risks and develop plans to reduce risk and increase yield
Participate in all Gate Meetings and take responsibility for bids within delegated authority
Lead and/or support Customer negotiations on proposals in line with policy/delegation and gate approvals
Manage all contract award and order booking processes in line with policy and processes
Conduct a robust handover of award projects into the wider transport team.
Review and where necessary replace existing agency agreement for contingent workforces and ensure fit for purpose and bringing best value to Boughey
What will you bring?
IACCM accreditation would be advantageous
Business/Law degree or equivalent eg CIPS Level 6
Knowledge of contract/company law and knowledge of UK and other export controls
Strongly numerate with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Confident in working with complex financial models and spreadsheets
Thorough in approach with strong attention to detail
Comfortable in managing multiple, sometimes conflicting, priorities
Team player, ready to engage with and motivate others
Experienced negotiator
Ready to adapt to the needs of a growing business including occasional travel and extended hours if required
Computer literate including MS Office software - particularly Excel, SAP would be advantageous
