Main Purpose(s)
The Commercial Partnerships Manager is responsible for generating commercial revenue through retention and successful management of BUCS' Commercial partners.

They will also support the Director of Marketing and Commercial to generate new commercial opportunities through both partnerships and other income generating streams - including corporate and sporting events.

They will work closely with the Engagement, Events and Competition teams to maximise BUCS' commercial potential and deliver exceptional experiences for our members and participants.

Reflecting BUCS' values of being Inclusive, Innovative, Respectful and Dynamic, the Commercial Partnerships Manager will also line manage the Commercial Partnerships Administrator, while leading on the day-to-day activation for BUCS' partnership portfolio.

Main duties and responsibilities

Manage commercial partner contracts, activations, and reporting Manage day-to-day communications with existing commercial partners Build and develop relationships with existing and new commercial partners Lead business development in specific areas, working with partners to create innovative solutions to fulfil customer and commercial needs Support the Director of Marketing and Commercial to devise and secure new commercial partnerships Develop new commercial assets to enhance services and deliver new revenue streams Work with internal staff and teams to integrate commercial activity across the organisation Facilitate analysis of digital activity and campaigns related to commercial activations, to support the business to make data-driven decisions and provide insight to partners Work with the Engagement Team to protect BUCS' commercial rights and brand Support the delivery of the Commercial and Engagement strategies Line manage the Commercial team

This role will involve occasional weekend and evening work and overnight stays at BUCS events Professionally represent BUCS at all times Manage and develop relationships with staff across the business

Essential knowledge or experience

Use of Microsoft application or similar professional software. Managing a diverse range of commercial partners, including through activations and evaluation Delivering digital and event-based activations to fulfil contractual agreements Renewing and uplifting commercial agreements Creating and presenting commercial partnership proposals Influencing commercial partnership agreements Creating innovative solutions to support delivery of partner agreements Protecting a brand's rights and assets whilst working with commercial partners
Essential skills and abilities

3+ years' experience in a Commercial Partnership Manager role or similar Track record of successful account management Ability to collate and present written information Ability to learn, develop quickly and provide collegial support to other members of staff Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Flexible and conscientious approach to work Excellent planning and organisation skills Creative ability, energy and enthusiasm
Desirable knowledge or experience

Understanding of the commercial landscape in the sport sector The student sport sector
