About Us

For over forty years, Brelmayne Limited has served as a primary contractor for Walsall Council carrying out mechanical maintenance in schools and council buildings and also serving the private sector in Walsall and the West Midlands area, working with social care providers, construction contractors and local industry. Our work includes all aspects of gas heating, plumbing & pipe fitting, legionella prevention, electrical works and annual servicing of heating plant and commercial catering equipment in these establishments.

We are recruiting for a Commercial plumber / pipefitter to join our team. This is a full time permanent role and the successful candidate can start immediately.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of plumbing systems and be capable of performing repairs and maintenance on various plumbing fixtures and commercial pipework installation.

The role includes repair, installation and replacement of commercial heating equipment, hot & cold water systems, pumps, school toilets and commercial kitchens. It will also include servicing, maintenance, pipefitting and general miscellaneous works as required.

General knowledge of commercial installations and their associated systems such as Electrical, BMS and Plumbing are essential. The role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

We work mainly in the West Midlands/South Staffs area for Local Authorities, Educational, Commercial and Social Care establishments.

Excellent rates of pay, negotiable subject to experience/qualifications.

Responsibilities

Install, repair, and maintain plant equipment in a range of commercial buildings; Diagnose plumbing issues and determine appropriate solutions; Use a range of hand tools & mechanical equipment including welding equipment to cut, bend and weld pipes and undertake commercial pipework installation; Perform routine maintenance of plumbing systems to identify potential problems and ensure optimal performance; Carry out general plumbing repairs, maintenance and remedial works as directed; Collaborate with other team members to complete projects efficiently; Follow safety protocols, complete requirement paperwork and adhere to industry regulations, standards and best practice.

Skills

City & Guilds plumbing qualification or equivalent; Previous experience as a Commercial plumber / pipefitter or similar role is essential; Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail; Proficient in heavy lifting and operating power tools; Knowledge of carpentry and ability to use hand tools effectively; Basic maths skills for measuring and calculating dimensions accurately; Valid driving license for transportation of equipment and materials; Must be able to self-manage and be confident of meeting deadlines; Any associated training such as electrical is beneficial.
