Commercial Reporting Officer

Oxford, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

At the Oxford Bus Company, we believe in connecting people -- to work, education, social life, and their communities. As a Commercial Reporting Officer, you'll turn data into insight, helping the business understand how our services are performing and supporting decisions that improve our customers' journeys every day.

You'll analyse revenue, patronage, and route performance, producing clear and meaningful reports and dashboards for internal teams and external stakeholders. Your work will help the business interpret data and identify opportunities for improvements.

This Oxford based role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with numbers, interpreting data, and presenting it in a way that makes sense to colleagues across the business. You'll work closely with our commercial, finance, and planning teams to make sure reporting is accurate, insightful, and accessible.

What You'll do:

Support the production of routine and ad-hoc commercial reports, including revenue, patronage, and local or government support initiatives. Produce reports and dashboards for internal teams and external partners, including universities, local authorities, and other key stakeholders. Maintain and configure reporting systems and help streamline automated reporting and route profitability analysis. Work with department heads to identify reporting needs and create additional dashboards or ad-hoc reports. Support reconciliation of Travel Shop sales and respond to customer-initiated payment queries. Help colleagues across the business understand and make use of the data to improve services. Undertake other duties as required to support the Commercial Reporting function.

What we're Looking For:

Comfortable working with data, producing reports and dashboards, and interpreting complex information. Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel; experience with reporting systems or transactional data is desirable. Curious about the "business behind the data" and willing to learn about public transport operations. Detail-oriented with high standards of accuracy. Positive, flexible, and a team player who can communicate insights clearly to colleagues. Previous bus industry experience is helpful but not essential.

What we can offer you!

Competitive salary (dependent on experience). Two free bus travel passes valid across our operators. Pension scheme, lifestyle benefits, and Employee Assistance Programme. 25 days' holiday plus Bank Holidays. Career development opportunities within Oxford Bus Group and the wider Go-Ahead Group.
