COMMERCIAL TRAINING MANAGER

We offer a comprehensive range of services, including CISRS skill training, independent scaffolding inspections, scaffolding consultancy, and PASMA lightweight aluminium tower scaffolding training. Operating across diverse industries such as construction, petrochemical, nuclear, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and power generation, we have established fully accredited training facilities in Nottingham, Humberside, and Wandsworth (London). Our international presence includes CISRS-accredited facilities in the Middle East, Asia, and the Far East, with plans for further expansion.

Job Purpose




To ensure the smooth operation of the training and learning facility while overseeing administrative, compliance, operational, and commercial functions. This role is pivotal in driving sales growth across Scaffold Training, Consultancy, and retained clients, leveraging strong commercial acumen to enhance business development. This role will be UK based with extensive travel.

Key Responsibilities



Training Management & Assessment Coordination


Oversee daily operations of the training centre, ensuring compliance and consistency in training, assessment, and verification.


Lead and support assessors and staff, delivering coaching, guidance, and standardisation across all programmes.


Liaise with awarding bodies, external verifiers, and partners to maintain quality standards and embed key themes such as Equality, Diversity, and Health & Safety.

Commercial & Business Development


Drive sales growth across training, consultancy, and retained services through proactive business development.


Build and maintain strong client relationships to enhance retention, secure repeat business, and support revenue targets.


Support commercial strategy by contributing to pricing, marketing, and market insight to stay competitive and informed.

Compliance, Audit & Quality Assurance

Lead audit preparation and successful certification for Cyber Essentials and all other relevant accreditations. Ensure adherence to Equality of Opportunity and Health & Safety regulations.
Operational & Office Management


Lead and manage the team to achieve the agreed targets including scheduling, leave coordination, and training diary management.


Oversee staff logistics such as travel bookings, workwear distribution, and monthly timesheet planning.


Prepare and present financial and commercial performance reports, including sales, training metrics, and site footfall.

Procurement & HR Support

Support HR functions by booking employee training and monitoring HR training compliance. Assist in bid writing, funding applications, and audits for training programs.

Skills & Competencies




Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record in driving sales, revenue growth, and meeting performance targets.


Excellent leadership, organisational, and multitasking skills, including team motivation and deadline management.


Exceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal, with a focus on building client relationships.


Thorough understanding of NVQ National Standards, assessment processes, and managing quality systems.


Proficient in IT tools such as MS Office, CRM systems, and sales tracking, with a strategic mindset for market analysis and business development.

Qualifications & Experience




Proven experience in training management, operations, compliance, or commercial roles, with proven success in sales or business development.


Experience conducting audits, including ISO, City & Guilds, and Cyber Essentials.


Skilled in collaborating with awarding bodies and internal/external verifiers.


Familiarity with funding streams like City & Guilds and public education contracts.


Knowledge of scaffolding or work-at-height industries is a plus but not essential.
