We have an exciting opportunity for a diligent General Insurance professional to join our Mid-Term Adjustments and Renewals team as a Commercial Underwriter where you\xe2\x80\x99ll be responsible for evaluating and assessing risks across a variety of business classes, including our Motor Trade, Farm and Commercial Select products.

Our NFU Mutual agencies are the vital day-to-day link with our customers and, as an Underwriter, you\'ll build strong relationships and work collaboratively with our Agents, resolving complex referrals and ensuring effective management of the insurance risk cost whilst delivering the right solution and service for our members.

This role is based in our York office, however, we understand how important a positive work-life balance is, so to help you give your best, we offer great facilities when you want to be in an office environment and support to work up to 80% of your hours from home.

We provide a comprehensive induction to the role and to make sure you get the most out of this, you will need to be able to commit to being in the office full-time for the first 6 months. Following your induction, you will receive ongoing training which will support your career progression and personal growth.

Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday \xe2\x80\x93 Friday with shifts between the hours of 8am and 6pm.

About you

Ideally, you\xe2\x80\x99ll have previous experience of working within a Commercial Underwriting role, however we are able to consider individuals at various levels in their career journey. If you have previous exposure to a broad range of Commercial General Insurance products and are a keen learner, we would love to hear from you.

It\xe2\x80\x99s important that you\xe2\x80\x99re able to demonstrate effective communication skills which will enable you to establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business, with the ability and confidence to challenge and influence where necessary.
