Purpose of the Role:
As a Commis Chef at Wainwrights Inn, your primary responsibility is to be an integral part of our dynamic kitchen team. Your role is crucial in ensuring the delivery of high-quality food that delights our customers. Collaborating closely with the Head Chef and the wider kitchen staff, you will be actively involved in the preparation and cooking of dishes, showcasing your culinary skills while adhering to the highest standards of hygiene. Your contribution is vital to the smooth operation of the kitchen and maintaining a professional and hygienic environment.
Our Ideal Candidate:
We are seeking a reliable, quick-thinking, and creative individual to join our team as a Commis Chef. If you have a Food Preparation and Cooking NVQ Level 2 or are willing to undertake this accreditation, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Previous experience in a pub environment is preferable, and the ability to work under pressure is essential. As part of a small and committed team, you will play a crucial role in various kitchen duties, including food preparation, dealing with deliveries and stock rotation, maintaining compliance with food safety standards, and handling cleaning duties. The ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment is a key attribute we are looking for, as Wainwrights Inn can get exceptionally busy.

Role Requirements:
Prepare and cook dishes under the guidance of senior kitchen staff.
Contribute creative flair to support food preparation for restaurant, pub, and conference customers.
Uphold hygiene standards by maintaining a professional appearance.
Handle and maintain knives responsibly.
Accept and store food deliveries.
Clean production areas and equipment
Take charge in emergencies by following procedures for fire, accidents, or suspicious items.
Play a key role in maintaining overall kitchen and food safety standards.
Contribute significantly to the achievement of the company's objectives.
