We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our culinary team in a very unique site located in the Brecon Beacons National Park. The Property is a 10 bedroom Boutique Hotel that has gone through a full refurbishment over the past 2 years.
As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation and production meet our high standards of quality and safety. This position is ideal for individuals looking to advance their culinary skills in a fast-paced restaurant environment while contributing to the overall success of our hospitality service.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes under the supervision of senior chefs.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all kitchen operations.
Support the kitchen team in food production, ensuring timely service during peak hours.
Organise and clean workstations, ensuring all utensils and equipment are properly maintained.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and effective communication.
Participate in menu planning and contribute creative ideas for new dishes.
Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency in food quality and presentation.
Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and reporting shortages.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential.
Strong understanding of culinary techniques and food preparation methods.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices within the hospitality industry.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy kitchen setting.
Strong communication skills and a willingness to work collaboratively within a team.
A passion for cooking and eagerness to learn from experienced chefs.
Leadership potential with an interest in supervising junior staff as required.
