We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. Responsibilities
Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs
Support the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring smooth workflow
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene at all times
Organise and manage food production tasks efficiently to meet service requirements
Supervise junior team members where applicable, fostering a collaborative environment
Ensure all ingredients and supplies are properly stored and labelled
Contribute to menu planning and presentation of dishes
Uphold cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area
Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge
Experience
Proven experience in food production, cooking, or kitchen environments
Supervising experience or team management skills are advantageous
Familiarity with food safety regulations and standards within hospitality or restaurant settings
Knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary practices, and restaurant operations
Experience in hospitality, including serving or front-of-house roles, is beneficial but not essential
Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate team members and manage tasks effectively
