Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our small team at Ranfield's Brasserie. You will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations by assisting in food preparation and ensuring that the highest standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained. You will have responsibilities in all sections of the kitchen. You will be learning from our award-winning head chef JB Ranfield and will expand your skills with our monthly changing menus and weekly changing specials.

This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills within a dynamic hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes as directed by our senior chefs. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of food items. Support team management by collaborating effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Follow food safety regulations and best practices to guarantee the safety and quality of all food produced. Participate in food production activities, including cooking, plating, and serving as required. Help maintain inventory levels by reporting stock shortages or issues to senior kitchen staff.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen environment or culinary training is essential. Strong understanding of food safety practices and hygiene standards. Ability to work effectively as part of a team Confident to work on your own and guide yourself Excellent communication skills within a fast-paced environment. A passion for hospitality and commitment to delivering exceptional service.
This position will be for Tuesdays-Sundays according to the rota with approx 45-50 hours a week.
