We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. The Commis will support senior chefs in food production, ensuring all standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes according to recipes and standards Support the team in maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area Follow food safety protocols at all times to ensure hygiene standards are met Help with ingredient organisation, storage, and stock control Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service periods Supervise junior staff or trainees as required, providing guidance and support Contribute to menu development by offering ideas based on culinary trends and guest preferences Assist in plating and presentation of dishes to meet quality standards

Skills

Strong understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene practices Excellent teamwork and communication skills within a fast-paced setting Supervising experience or leadership qualities are desirable Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure Knowledge of restaurant or hospitality operations is advantageous Demonstrated ability in food preparation, culinary techniques, and service standards Organised with attention to detail in all aspects of food handling and presentation
