We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our culinary team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in the kitchen, assisting with food preparation and ensuring that our high standards of food safety and quality are maintained. Duties

Assist chefs in the preparation of ingredients and cooking of dishes according to established recipes and standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Support the team in managing food production processes, including portion control and presentation. Participate in inventory management by assisting with stock rotation and reporting any shortages or discrepancies. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods, demonstrating strong team management skills. Follow instructions from senior chefs while also contributing ideas for menu improvements or new dishes. Engage in continuous learning about culinary techniques, food safety practices, and hospitality trends.

Qualifications

Previous kitchen experience is preferred, with a focus on food preparation and cooking. Culinary experience or relevant qualifications in hospitality are advantageous. Strong understanding of food safety standards and practices is essential. Leadership qualities with the ability to supervise junior staff effectively. Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively within a team environment. A passion for food production and commitment to delivering high-quality dishes.
