Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will assist in food preparation, support kitchen operations, and uphold high standards of food safety and hygiene. The Commis will work closely with senior chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service delivery and maintain the quality of all dishes prepared.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards Support the team in food presentation, garnishing, and portion control Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations Follow all health and safety guidelines to uphold hygiene standards within the kitchen Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and storage organisation Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during service periods Support supervising staff in training new team members and maintaining team management standards Contribute to a positive working environment by demonstrating leadership qualities and teamwork

Experience

Previous experience in food production or a similar culinary role is preferred Proven experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is advantageous Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is essential Experience in supervising or leading a team within a kitchen environment is desirable Familiarity with food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen equipment Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service hours Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail in food presentation and quality control
