We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, support kitchen operations, and uphold high standards of food safety and hygiene. The Commis will work closely with senior chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service delivery and maintain the quality of all dishes prepared.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
Support senior chefs in food presentation, garnishing, and plating
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
Ensure proper storage of ingredients and supplies, adhering to hygiene standards
Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and replenishment of ingredients
Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to prevent accidents or contamination
Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods
Participate in training programmes aimed at enhancing culinary skills and knowledge
Experience
Prior experience in food production, kitchen operations, or hospitality is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Supervising experience or team management skills are advantageous but not mandatory
Knowledge of food safety standards, including HACCP principles, is preferred
Experience working in a restaurant or similar food service environment will be considered an asset
Demonstrated interest in culinary arts, cooking, or hospitality industries is highly valued
Previous roles involving food preparation, serving, or kitchen experience will support successful integration into the team

Pay: Up to 12.21 per hour
