Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis to join our culinary team in Glass House. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in the kitchen, assisting in food preparation and ensuring that our high standards of food safety and quality are maintained. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills in a fast-paced restaurant environment while contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Duties

Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes according to established recipes and standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all food safety regulations are adhered to. Support senior chefs in food production tasks, including cooking, plating, and presentation of dishes. Help supervise kitchen operations during service periods, ensuring efficiency and quality control. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service delivery. Participate in inventory management, including stock rotation and reporting any shortages or issues. Continuously learn and develop culinary skills under the guidance of experienced chefs.

Skills

Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Proficient in food preparation techniques with a keen eye for detail. Excellent hospitality skills with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. Ability to work effectively within a team environment while also demonstrating initiative when required. Familiarity with culinary terminology and techniques related to food production. Basic supervisory skills to assist in managing kitchen staff effectively. A positive attitude towards learning and adapting in a dynamic kitchen setting.
