Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis to join our culinary team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations by assisting in food production and ensuring that the highest standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills in a fast-paced restaurant environment while working under the guidance of experienced chefs.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes as per the menu specifications. Support senior kitchen staff in daily operations, ensuring efficient workflow. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients. Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times. Participate in inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service during peak hours. Follow instructions from chefs regarding food preparation techniques and presentation.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen or food production environment is preferred but not essential. A passion for culinary arts and a desire to learn and grow within the hospitality industry. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting. Excellent communication skills, with a focus on listening and following directions. Leadership potential with an interest in supervising junior staff as needed. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.21 per hour
