We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in food preparation and cooking, with a keen interest in developing their culinary skills in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Commis, you will work under the guidance of senior chefs, contributing to the overall success of our kitchen operations while ensuring high standards of food safety and quality.
Duties
Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes as directed by senior chefs.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
Support the team in food production tasks, including chopping, mixing, and plating.
Participate in inventory management by assisting with stock rotation and reporting any shortages to supervisors.
Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and high-quality food delivery.
Follow all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
Contribute to menu development by providing feedback on dishes and suggesting improvements based on customer preferences.
Skills
Previous experience in a kitchen environment is essential; restaurant experience is highly desirable.
Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation and cooking techniques.
Supervising experience is an advantage, demonstrating leadership capabilities within a team setting.
Knowledge of food safety practices to ensure compliance with health regulations.
Excellent team management skills, fostering collaboration among kitchen staff.
