We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes according to established recipes and standards
Support food production processes, ensuring efficiency and consistency in meal presentation
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
Help supervise junior staff members, fostering a collaborative team environment
Ensure all food safety protocols are adhered to, including proper storage and handling of ingredients
Contribute to the development of new menu items alongside senior chefs
Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed
Support the team during busy service periods, maintaining high levels of professionalism and efficiency
Qualifications
Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality setting is desirable, particularly in food preparation or restaurant environments
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen hygiene
Demonstrated leadership qualities with some supervising or team management experience preferred
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Passion for culinary arts and eagerness to learn new techniques
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
Formal culinary training or relevant hospitality qualifications are advantageous but not essential
